In my high school, writing essay is just a simple thing in my mind, when I heard teacher want us to write an essay, we just write an essay without any others thing. But when I enter Taylor's University, I have learn many things about how to write an good essay, in my English class, my lecture told us writing an essay not just write, you might also have to do a pre-writing before you do an essay because you can list down all your ideas, important points, and many other useful sources before you write an essay.Also, elements of pre-writing may include planning, research, outlining, diagramming, storyboarding or clustering. Besides, in our essay we need to include topic sentence, thesis statement, pronouns, specific details, transition word. Furthermore, in our essay we may include an introduction, body and conclusion. Introduction is an important part because it is an opening remarks to catch reader's interest, introduction also including thesis statement and plan of development. For the body part, it may include 3 paragraph, each paragraph may include topic sentence and specific evidence. For the conclusion part, it may include optional summary or general closing remarks or including both of it. Besides of how to write an essay, I also learn to use quotes and phrases in the class. In conclusion, I have learn many things about writing an essay and how to make my essay become more interesting. |
