In this project, we are given a question paper and to solve the problem in a group of 3~5 member. We have used different calculation, laws and theories to solve the question and we need to produce a model of the object which is shown in the question paper. For the calculation, we have to calculate the total surface area and the volume of the object, so, we used the formula for the surface area of cylinder which is the area of curved surface+ area of 2 circular surface (2πrh +2π(r^2)). Also, for the volume of the cylinder, we used the formula for the volume of cylinder which is the base area x height (2πh(r^2). Then, we used the theories, Pythagoras Theorem to determine the circumference of the object with the formula of c=/a^2+b^2. Next, we used theories from trigonometry to determine the angle of sector which is cosX=Adjacent X/ Hypotenuse X, we are also used tried other solution such as Law of Cosine to determine the angle of sector which is a^2=2r^2-2r^2cosX. Lastly, we are also used the Sines Rule/Law of Sines to solve the problems sinY/y=sinX/x or y/sinY=x/sinX. The pictures below shows our calculations for the project and the model we made. In conclusion, I have learned how to apply the theories of mathematics on some object and I have improve my mathematics calculation through this project. Also, I have trained myself to avoid the mistakes from mathematics calculation.
